Zhangcun Village
Zhangcun Village is located in Sikou Town, about 13 to 15 kilometers away from Wuyuan County, China’s most beautiful countryside. Zhangcun Village is an ancient village surrounded by mountains and rivers, not only Zhangcun has beautiful rural scenery, but also with a traditional village setting and a famous wooden bridge. It is an excellent place for photography and artists, and is also a favorite spot for tourists.
Zhangcun Wooden Bridge
The most famous attraction in Zhangcun Village is the wooden bench bridge. It is about 120 meters long and is considered the longest wooden bench bridge in China. This type of wooden bridge is very rare to find and it’s a beauty to behold, especially in early misty mornings. Walking on the wooden bridge or taking a bamboo raft, you can admire the lush mountains on both sides, the winding fields and the houses with white walls and black tiles, and feel the serene village life you won’t feel anywhere else.
Strolling through this small village, you will come across pretty, old houses like these, a scene so different from those cityscapes. Zhangcun Village is a very traditional and original village in Wuyuan. Large vegetable gardens are preserved and villagers still work hard on the fields. A sense of the simplicity and authenticity of the countryside is appreciated by all the visitors.
If you are thirsty, especially in the summer time, there are a couple of cute cafes and tea places you can sit down and take a break. Since Zhangcun is not far from downtown Wuyuan, you don’t have to eat here, but people in this village still grow their own vegetables and keep chickens and fish in their backyard, food here is truly tasty!
Zhangcun Village is an old village in Wuyuan with very traditional Hui-style architecture. The village has right vibes for photographers, authors and artists, it inspires them to set up a base here to create great artistic works. wuyuanyinxicaotang is one of those homestays that serves that purpose well.

- Public buses going to the direction of Sikou Town will drop you right off at the Zhangcun village entrance
- Time to allocate: an hour to 90 minutes
- There are two other nice villages in Sikou Town area: Sixiyan Village, and Xichong Village, they are close together, if you have time, pay a visit to either of the two will also worth your time
