Lingyan Cave and The Surrounding Area

Lingyan Cave may be the main attraction, but Lingyan Cave Scenic Area has much more to offer. Tongyuan Village, located within the scenic area, is a historic Taoist village with a history spanning thousands of years. The village is home to 56 ancient trees, including Southern Chinese yew, ginkgo, camphor, nanmu, and Chinese chinquapin trees. Surrounded by lush greenery and a beautiful natural environment, Tongyuan Village offers a peaceful glimpse into the region’s cultural and ecological heritage. Take your time to explore beyond the cave and appreciate the tranquil beauty of the village and its ancient trees.

Underground River Rafting

If exploring the cave is the beginning of your journey through Lingyan Cave, then rafting along its underground river is undoubtedly the most unforgettable part of the experience.

Step aboard a small boat and slowly glide into the underground river. As the oars gently cut through the calm water, stalactites along the riverbanks are reflected on the surface, while the lights dance across the rock walls. All you hear is the soft sound of water. There is no rush and no noisy crowds—just a peaceful journey through an underground world where time seems to flow slowly.

For many visitors, this is the most memorable part of their Lingyan Cave experience—and it is a must-try attraction when visiting Lingyan Cave in summer.
