Fengshan Village
Fengshan Village is nestled within Zheyuan Township of Wuyuan County in Jiangxi Province. In 2013, it was officially designated as a China Traditional Village, underscoring its cultural and historical importance. Its relative quietness—few tourists and free admission—makes it a serene alternative to more crowded destinations in Wuyuan. The canola flowers typically bloom in March and April, creating a golden, fragrant backdrop ideal for photography and leisurely strolls.
Fengshan Village was built over 1000 years ago, it currently has over 3000 residents, most of them with a surname Zha. Zha Ancestral Hall (查氏宗祠) is a nationally recognized historical monument. The legend of Wuxia-Jinyong, his ancestral home is still standing in Fengshan Village.
Fengshan Village has always placed great importance on education — valuing Confucian learning, taking pride in farming and studying, and passing down family traditions.
