Jiangwan Village
Jiangwan Village was developed in early Tang Dynasty. Jiangwan is surrounded by three sides of rolling mountains, an S-shaped river runs east to west through the village, a traditional setup for an ancient village. This area is full of cultural heritage and has produced numerous well-known scholars and important officials in history, most of them chose to build large residences here in order to improve the quality of life for their families, resulting in many well-preserved ancestral halls and official mansions. There is one street called Liangshang Street really worth a leisure stroll. In the old days, this street flourished with breweries, tofu workshops, grocery stores, and eating places. Now visitors can still feel the ambiance and buy local products and souvenirs on this street.
Rich Culture And Heritage
Xiaojiang Ancestral Hall is reputed as the First Hall in Wuyuan County. A tour of the grand hall shows magnificent Hui-style architecture and rich history of the prominent Jiang family in this area.
With three sides against mountains and a river running in front, Jiangwan is very green and scenic. People here are very conscious about protecting the environment, as a result, Jiangwan has many ancient trees and a lush forest in its backyard. A leisure walk up to the top of Mt. Houlong gives you serene pleasure and a great view of the whole village.
