How to Choose Accommodation in Wuyuan
Wuyuan offers a wide range of accommodation options, from luxury and boutique hotels to business hotels, guesthouses, and charming homestays in a variety of styles. Whether you’re looking for comfort and convenience or a more authentic countryside experience, there’s something to suit every type of traveler and budget. When choosing where to stay in Wuyuan, the first thing to consider is location. Essentially, the choice comes down to one question: Would you prefer to stay in the town or in the countryside? We recommend staying in downtown Wuyuan, especially in the area around Wuyuan Train Station, where an adjacent bus station provides convenient connections to many of the major attractions in the surrounding countryside.
Staying in downtown Wuyuan is particularly recommended if:
- You are a first-time visitor to Wuyuan and plan to visit several of the major attractions.
- You rely on public transportation: Wuyuan’s attractions are scattered throughout the countryside, and there is very limited reliable public transportation between individual villages. Staying near the train and bus stations makes it much easier to get around.
- You want some evening and nighttime entertainment: Staying in town gives you easier access to places such as Wunvzhou Resort, Xiangao Town Scenic Area, and Xiangao West Lake Scenic Area, where you can enjoy the atmosphere after dark.
- You want more dining choices: Downtown Wuyuan offers a much wider selection of restaurants and local eateries than the countryside, giving you more options for meals.
We recommend staying in the countryside if you are looking for a more peaceful and immersive experience in rural Wuyuan.
Staying in the countryside is particularly suitable if:
- You enjoy outdoor activities: Wuyuan is an excellent destination for hiking and exploring the countryside on foot, making a rural stay especially appealing for outdoor enthusiasts.
- You prefer peace and quiet: If you enjoy a tranquil countryside atmosphere and want to slow down, relax, and recharge, staying in one of Wuyuan’s villages can be a wonderful choice.
Please note: If you choose to stay in the countryside, you will need to plan your transportation carefully. There is very limited reliable public transportation between villages and to hiking trailheads, and taxis can be difficult to find. For greater convenience and flexibility, consider renting a car, hiring a private driver, or arranging transportation through your hotel or homestay.
Accommodation in Town
Four Points by Sheraton Wuyuan (adjacent Wuyuan Train Station)
Opened in 2025 and located very close (372 meters) to Wuyuan Train Station, Four Points by Sheraton Wuyuan hotel is incredibly convenient for travelers arriving by train. The hotel’s adjacent bus station provides direct bus services to some major attractions in Wuyuan like Huangling, Jiangwan, Wunvzhou, Xiangao Ancient Town and more. The hotel has its own restaurant and bar, the customer service is informative and very helpful, making it the top hotel choice in Wuyuan downtown area.
Country Inn & Suites by Radisson(near Wuyuan Train Station)
Newly opened in 2026, Country Inn & Suites by Radisson is located just across the street from Wuyuan Train Station, making it an exceptionally convenient choice for travelers arriving by train. The hotel offers a pleasant environment, attractive surroundings, and good views. With plenty of restaurants and food options at Wuyuanhui Plaza directly behind the hotel, it also makes a convenient base for exploring Wuyuan’s attractions and doing some shopping. The hotel features a well-maintained swimming pool and offers excellent value for money, making it a practical and comfortable choice for your stay in Wuyuan.
Wuyuan Xinbang Hotel (near Wunvzhou Resort)
Opened in 2019, this is one of the newest hotels in Wuyuan. Grand New Century Hotel is conveniently located just 8km away from Wuyuan train station, it features a tennis court, an indoor swimming pool, a gym, and a playground for children. The breakfast is rich both in western and Chinese food. The hotel setting is beautiful with a lovely garden to relax in. This hotel has on-site parking, is an ideal choice both for business and leisure travelers.
Wunvzhou Dreamless Lake Resort Hotel (inside Wunvzhou Resort)
The hotel offers lake-view rooms with balconies to watch performances like fireworks and iron flower shows. Located inside the scenic area, it’s convenient for exploring the resort and the hotel also offers shuttle services for pick-up and drop-off.
Xiangao Town Homestay (inside Xiangao Town Scenic Area)
This homestay complex features 14 meticulously restored Ming and Qing dynasty-style ancient buildings, offering 37 guest rooms. Each structure and room preserves unique historical narratives and architectural aesthetics. Accommodation in the Countryside
Huangling Shaiqiu Meisu Hotel (inside Huangling)
Located inside the Huangling attraction. Although very primitive on the outside, the interior facilities are quite modern and comfy. Worth staying overnight to enjoy the solitude and see the village before tourists pour in. The hotel has very good customer service. By request, they would have their hotel vehicle pick you up from either the cable car station or the parking lot if you drive. By staying here, you can walk to the glass bridge to watch the sunrise, you can stroll by the Old Street to enjoy the magic evening lights. Without stepping outside your hotel room, you will see cascading canola flowers blooming in Spring and autumn harvest crops displaying through your window, a truly unique experience.
Huangling Zhushan Resort Hotel (inside Huangling)
Huangling Zhushan Resort Hotel opened in 2026. This 145-room hotel enjoys a convenient location within the scenic area, just a short walk from the mountaintop cable car station and within easy walking distance of Huangling’s main street. The rooms are modern, spacious, clean, and well-equipped, with many featuring balconies overlooking the surrounding scenery. Guests can also enjoy a great breakfast, and the hotel provides a convenient shuttle service for getting around the scenic area.
Huangling Yishanju Meisu (inside Huangling)
Huangling Yishanju Meisu opened in 2022. This 40-room hotel is perched at one of the highest points within the Huangling Scenic Area, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding terraced fields and ancient villages. Guests can enjoy these beautiful vistas right from the comfort of their rooms.
Thoughtfully converted from traditional local residences, the hotel combines charming rustic character with clean, comfortable accommodations. Wangwuyuan · Liusu Xiaozhu
One of the best eco-lodges in China. The owners pay a lot of attention to details to make sure guests enjoy the natural surroundings. The rooms are aesthetically designed with the use of simple materials that reflect the nature theme of the lodge. The food tastes great as it is picked straight out of the garden.
Zhishantang Inn (Wuyuan Likeng)
Zhishangtang Inn is located inside Likeng Scenic Area, about 16km from Wuyuan Train Station. It is a traditonal, Hui-style old house which is about over 200 years. Entrance ticket (55 RMB is required) to enter Likeng Village, contact the inn owner to meet you at the entrance as there is some walking distance from the village entrance to the inn.
Jiwei Hotel (Sixiyan Village)

A fancy family inn that is located in Sixiyan Village with lovingly restored courtyards and 14 modern, well-furnished bedrooms. Wuyuan Skywells offers free bicycles and free luggage storage. There is a garden and a large terrace where guests can enjoy the sunshine. The area is popular for cycling and hiking. The in-house bar serves cocktails. Guests can enjoy Chinese food and breakfast in the restaurant.
Huamantang Liuli Xiangyuan Hotel (Zhangcun)
A perfect Setting for a country stay. Nice and quiet in a secluded location but only minutes away from the major tourist sites, you will get the best out of the both world. A complete renovation in 2019 in addition to the excellent hospitality, you will have a wonderful memory of a lifetime.
