Huangling Village
Regarded as one of the prettiest villages in China. Perched on the top of a mountain, Huangling is home to a host of original and restored heritage houses and buildings. This ancient village showcases a spectacular view of the blooming canola fields in the spring and boasts colorful harvest scenes every autumn—making Huangling an architecture lover’s delight and a photographer’s paradise.
A Colorful Mountain Village
Huangling is a mountaintop ancient village. The outstanding feature of this village is “Dry Crops In Autumn”. The combination of Huizhou style old houses and the colorful display of fall harvest is the major attraction in Huangling
Huangling is another hot spot to visit in Spring. In early to middle March, you would see the yellow canola flowers carpeting the whole mountain range. In late May you will see a different flower, the whole area dotted red with azaleas.
Take the cable car ride to enjoy the aerial view.
A sky bridge is practically floating in mid-air, spanning more than 200 meters across two mountain peaks, with a section of glass panels in the middle. You muster the courage to step on the glass panel and just look – a reward for a 360-degree, floating in the air view. It feels awesome!
Heaven Sreet, an outdoor scenic Old Street, lies an array of cute shops and snack bars, there are also some good restaurants and tea houses too. While you might admire the exterior beauty of the shop facade, inside you will find many wood carving or bamboo carving souvenirs you can bring home to remind you of a wonderful trip you just had.
Huangling Shaiqiu Meisu Hotel, located inside the Huangling attraction. Although very primitive on the outside, the interior facilities are quite modern and comfy. Worth staying overnight to enjoy the solitude and see the village before tourists pour in. The hotel has very good customer service. By request, they would have their hotel vehicle pick you up from either the cable car station or the parking lot if you drive. By staying here, you can walk to the glass bridge to watch the sunrise, you can stroll by the Old Street to enjoy the magic evening lights. Without stepping outside your hotel room, you will see cascading canola flowers blooming in Spring and autumn harvest crops displaying through your window, a truly unique experience.
