The small village of Longwei is located in Xitou Township, Wuyuan County, Jiangxi Province. It sits at the end of the Wulong mountain range in Wuyuan, close to the Jiangling Scenic Area<\/a>. It serves as a gateway stop to Wuyuan\u2019s popular \u201cJiangling Scenery\u201d tourist route. Surrounded by mountains and water, it features continuous stretches of pastoral countryside.<\/span><\/p>

Longwei Village was once a core production area for the well-known Longwei inkstones. The village has preserved many traditional Hui-style buildings, characterized by grey bricks, white walls, and horse-head gables. A small river runs behind the village, with water as green as jade and crystal clear. Although small, Longwei Village is an ancient village in Wuyuan known for its Hui-style architecture, easily recognized by its whitewashed walls, black or grey tiled roofs, and distinctive horse-head gables. Longwei Village is located at the foot of Jiangling Mountain. In spring, vast fields of canola flowers surround the village, making it part of the scenery along the way to Jiangling Scenic Area. During peak season, staying here allows you to walk to the scenic area entrance and avoid traffic congestion.<\/span><\/p>

Starting mid to late October each year, the row of osmanthus trees at the village entrance\u2014light yellow and golden\u2014fills every alley with their fragrant scent. In November, red maple leaves are another highlight of Longwei Village. In summer, you can sit on a traditional bamboo raft on the river\u2014cool and relaxing.   • Longwei Village is 1.5-2km from Jiangling Scenic Area main entrance, and is about 15-20 minutes walk.<\/span><\/li>
  • There is no direct bus from Wuyuan Train Station to Longwei Village, you need to take taxi or DD to get there. If you have booked your accommodation in Longwei Village, you can ask your accommodation provider to pick you up from the train station, usually for free.<\/li>
  • 30-50 CNY\/person for taking the bamboo raft (about 20 minutes). November is the best time for photography.
