The resort opened its doors in July 2022. Centered on the legend of a Wu girl flying to the sky, it features the new Huizhou architectural style and is a comprehensive holiday destination integrating sightseeing, entertainment, conferences and exhibitions. The resort provides unique experiences including the cultural show “Encounter·Wuyuan”, Hui-style cultural exhibitions and workshops, night fireworks and light show, music festivals, a water park, local shopping, gourmet dining and more. WuNv Fairyland is the newest, most exciting addition to Wuyuan’s attractions.
Show "Encounter·Wuyuan"
The show centers on the legend of a Wu girl on a gigantic bighead carp that saved villagers from a disastrous flood and then flew to the sky to become a star. With advanced lighting and sound technology, feast your senses on a wide range of awe-inspiring audio and visual scenes. Paired together with a moving storyline, everyone is sure to take away a piece of Huizhou culture with them when they leave.
Hui-style Architecture
If you take a stroll around WuNv Fairyland, you’ll encounter Huizhou-style buildings and houses everywhere you look. Huizhou-style architecture is an ancient Chinese architectural style typically built with black tiles and white walls, often accompanied by artistic decorations made of brick, stone, and wood.
Town of Scholars
Wuyuan has a reputation as a “book town”, since children in the village are encouraged to study hard from a young age. The Wenchang Library is one display of how people here worship and respect books and knowledge. As a result, Wuyuan has produced many scholars and talented people in history, leaving a deep cultural legacy for us to witness today. You may pay a visit to the Zhuxi Exhibit, dedicated to one of the most famous philosophers in Chinese history, and the Jingyong Gallery, showcasing one of China’s well known authors.
Cultural Heritage
Being surrounded by three neighboring provinces, Wuyuan has formed a unique cultural legacy including elements such as Hui-inkstone, carvings, Hui-style opera, Nuo Dance, green tea and much more. Among them, the Hui-inkstone is particularly special: while inkstones are commonly used for Chinese calligraphy, the Hui-inkstone is intricately designed and makes for a wonderful souvenir to take home. Give the Tenfei Inkstone Museum a tour and you won’t regret it.
Traditional Events
On special occasions, you get to witness traditional Chinese weddings, Hui-style opera, Nuo Dance, tea ceremony etc.
Fireworks/Light Show at Night
The highlights of WuNv Fairyland are its enchanting light show and spectacular Saturday night fireworks, lighting up the three islands and two lakes like a dream wonderland.
Four-Season Waterpark
The water park inside WuNv Fairyland covers over 24 thousand square meters, with an indoor area boasting warm water year-round. This is a great facility for families, especially for children to have fun in the summer.
Music Festival
From time to time, WuNv Fairyland also hosts organized music festivals, so pay attention to the schedules—the concerts fill the whole place with a lively energy.
